Lyft Copyright Policy

Last modified: April 9, 2021

Notification of Copyright Infringement

Lyft, Inc. ("Lyft") respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users to do the same.

In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”), Lyft will respond to legitimate claims of copyright infringement committed by a third party using the Lyft website, mobile application, or other online or mobile network owned by Lyft (the "Lyft Properties") that are reported to Lyft’s Designated Copyright Agent, identified below.

It is Lyft’s policy, in appropriate circumstances and at its discretion, to: (a) remove or disable access to material that Lyft believes in good faith, upon notice from an intellectual property rights owner or authorized agent, is infringing the intellectual property rights of a third party by being made available through the Lyft Properties; and (b) to disable and/or terminate the account or access of any user who repeatedly infringes or is repeatedly charged with infringing the copyrights or other intellectual property rights of others.

Procedure for Reporting Claimed Infringement:

If you are a copyright owner, or are authorized to act on behalf of one, please report alleged copyright infringements taking place on or through the Lyft Properties by promptly sending a DMCA Notice of Alleged Infringement to Lyft’s Designated Copyright Agent (identified below). Upon receipt of the Notice as described below, Lyft will take whatever action, in its sole discretion, it deems appropriate, including removal of the challenged material from the Lyft Properties.

DMCA Notice of Alleged Infringement ("Notice"):

  1. Identify the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed, or - if multiple copyrighted works are covered by this Notice - provide a comprehensive list of the copyrighted works that you claim have been infringed.
  2. Identify the material that you claim is infringing (or to be the subject of infringing activity) and that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled, and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material, including at a minimum, if applicable, the URL of the link shown on the Lyft Properties where such material may be found.
  3. Provide your mailing address, telephone number, and, if available, email address.
  4. Include both of the following statements in the body of the Notice:
    • "I hereby state that I have a good faith belief that the disputed use of the copyrighted material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law (e.g., as a fair use)."
    • "I hereby state that the information in this Notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that I am the owner, or authorized to act on behalf of the owner, of the copyright or of an exclusive right under the copyright that is allegedly infringed."
  5. Provide your full legal name and your electronic or physical signature.

Deliver this Notice, with all items completed, to Lyft’s Designated Copyright Agent:

Copyright Agent

Lyft, Inc.

185 Berry Street, Ste. 5000

San Francisco, CA 94107

copyright@lyft.com

Your Notice may be shared by Lyft, in Lyft’s sole discretion, with the user alleged to have infringed a right you own or control, and you consent to Lyft making such disclosure. You should consult with your own lawyer or see 17 U.S.C. § 512 to confirm your obligations to provide a valid notice of claimed infringement.
