Important Announcement Regarding the Bike Angels Community

After nearly five years, we've made the difficult decision to close the Bike Angels Community.

We're incredibly proud of what we built together here. Your feedback and engagement showed us what matters most: elevated support and an avenue to share your ideas with the Lyft team.

While this community is closing, we're taking everything we learned from you and using it to make the Bike Angels experience even better.

Thank you for being part of this journey—your voice made a difference. The last day of our community page will be 1/31. For support with a Bike Angels issue, visit the ‘Help’ tab of your app.

  • Sorry to hear this Jess, as this was our main way to get any information from Citibike about changes and updates to the program, and was our only way to communicate with someone who actually works for Citibike, and could answer our questions (most of the time).

        Yes...even if it will no longer be managed by Citibike itself...the content within the discussions here can still address questions new members are likely to have and allow current angels to refer back to previous details from time to time.  There is a facebook group, but it contains much less content and history than this platform.

    I just want to chime in for a second that I'm personally sad that this is closing too; I really enjoyed interacting with this forum and I will miss interacting with you all. That said, I will continue bike angeling and advocating for improvements and I'll see you in the bike lane!

  • Are you serious?? It's too soon for April Fools Jess! That’s really terrible news... This forum and community have been one of the best aspects of the entire program. The team here has been consistently efficient, responsive, and genuinely helpful throughout. It truly won’t be the same without your support, this community has provided a level of personalized assistance that the in-app help function just can’t match.

    It’s incredibly sad to see you go. I sincerely hope you and your team are able to remain with Citi Bike or one of the sister bike share programs because it’s clear you genuinely care about the riders and the community. What happens next from here??

      T1m3Wizard​ Thank you for your kind words, both now and throughout our time together in this community! I want you to know that I'll still be working on Citi Bike initiatives and will continue to advocate for Bike Angels behind the scenes.

      While I can't share specific details just yet, I'm hopeful that as this community forum closes, we'll be able to make meaningful improvements to the overall Bike Angels experience and support systems.

      I'm so grateful for your commitment to the program and for the incredible contributions you've made here. You and this community have made my work truly rewarding, and I'll genuinely miss these direct connections with my Angels.

    Hey Jess - Before you disappear, would it be possible to pass along our feedback regarding the app.  They may have attempted to address it, but for whatever reason, yesterday I discovered that they actually have made the display worse.  Now you cannot see the point value at all...no matter how you adjust the display on your phone.  Here is the link to the discussion regarding the issue.  It includes screenshots of what we are seeing.  Thank you.

      Thanks for bumping this back up! I will certainly flag this issue internally. I'm sorry that you're unable to see the points for your rides in the ride history.  I documented that thread so that I can show the conversation to our Bike Angels Team even after the community has closed. cc: T1m3Wizard​

    Will we still get points for moving bikes?  Is the whole Bike Angels program gone or just the "page."

      rock48​ Nothing about the Bike Angels program is changing! You'll still see points on the map to move bikes and earn rewards.

    Bummer. Community forums were also useful for discussion with other members, not just support. The apps don't offer any way to connect with other members.

    The 'Help' tab in the app is a poor substitute. It only allows selecting one of 5 options when reporting an issue:

    • Abandoned bike or scooter
    • Littering
    • Vandalized bike or scooter
    • Blocked path
    • Damaged station

    What if an issue doesn't fall into one of those 5 options?

      If you have one of the issues listed, you'll click 'Report an issue'.

      To get help with Bike Angels issues, click Memberships & perks> Bike Angels to find the option to contact the Bike Angels support team.

    Very sorry to hear this!  This is a big loss for the community.    I am concerned about getting help using the "Help" tab.

      bwitt​ Thank you for your many contributions to this forum! You directly helped the Bike Angels community with your contributions, and we are so grateful. 

      I hear you about the support experience being tough for Power Angels. While I can't share any details here, I am hoping to create change in the overall BA support experience as this change with the community takes place.
