Lyft Support Communities Terms

Last modified 04.09.2021

By using the Lyft Support Community (the “Community”), you agree to these Lyft Support Communities Terms (“Communities Terms”), the Bike Angels Community Guidelines, and the Lyft Terms of Service, which are incorporated herein by this reference (collectively, the "Terms"). The Community is part of the Lyft Platform as defined in the Lyft Terms of Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement (the “Agreement”) between you and Lyft, Inc., its parents, subsidiaries, representatives, affiliates, officers and directors (collectively, “Lyft,” “we,” “us” or “our”) governing your use of the Community.

1.Community Account.

In order to use the Community, you must (1) have an existing Lyft account; and (2) create a "Community Account" by following the instructions on the Community registration page. You must ensure that your registration information is true, accurate and complete, and that you keep it up to date. Lyft may reclaim or amend your username at any time. It is strictly prohibited to include any information in your profile that suggests you are a Lyft employee or moderator, or to otherwise pose as such an employee or moderator when using the Community.

2. No official support

Information, advice or other material of any kind posted on the Community ("Content") is not official support provided by Lyft. For official support with account related and payment related questions, please visit the relevant help page for your local bikeshare market. You acknowledge that opinions expressed in Content on the Community are those of contributors of such Content only and do not reflect the opinions or policies of Lyft.

3. Content, moderation and reporting.

You are responsible for all Content that you post on the Community, and you must have rights to the content you post. Lyft does not control and assumes no responsibility for such Content or any Content posted by other users. You retain any copyright and other proprietary rights that you may hold in the Content that you post. You must not post Content if you are not the owner of that Content or otherwise fully authorized to grant rights in all elements of that user content. You must not post Content that is illegal, or intended to promote an illegal act of any kind, including violations of intellectual property rights, privacy rights or proprietary rights.

Lyft reserves the right to moderate the activity on the Community and may remove, block, or edit any Content for any or no reason, including, but not limited to, Content that, in Lyft’s sole discretion, violates the Terms. Lyft may remove or edit such Content without prior notification to the responsible user.

Remember that use of the Community in conflict with any of the Terms may result in immediate termination or suspension of your accounts (see the Term and Termination section below).

Please help Lyft to protect the integrity of the Community and to ensure that the Community remains as helpful as possible by reporting any inappropriate or illegal activity or user posts in the Community. Inappropriate content or activity may be reported by clicking the down arrow in the top right of the post and then selecting "Report Inappropriate Content".

4. Limited license

You grant Lyft a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, sublicensable, irrevocable, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, make available to the public, publish, translate, create derivative works from and distribute any Content or feedback, in whole or in part, that you post on or otherwise provide through the Community and to exercise all copyright and publicity rights with respect to such Content or feedback, without any attribution to you, in any media formats and through any media channels.

5. Term and termination

This Agreement will become effective in relation to you when you create a Lyft Community Account and will remain in effect until you terminate your Lyft Community Account or the earlier termination by Lyft thereof.

You may terminate your Lyft Community Account at any time by contacting an administrator through the Community. Without limiting its other rights to terminate access to the Community, Lyft reserves the right to terminate or suspend your Lyft Community Account at any time if, in Lyft’s sole discretion, you are in contravention of any of the Terms. If Lyft terminates or suspends your Lyft Community Account for any reason whatsoever, Lyft shall have no liability or responsibility to you. Please note that if your Lyft Community Account is terminated by you or Lyft for any reason, Content that you have posted may be kept in the Community in an anonymized form.

6. Disclaimers

The use of the Community is at your own risk. The Community is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent possible under applicable law, Lyft gives no warranty, express or implied, as to the quality, content and availability or fitness for a specific purpose of the Community. In addition, Lyft does not warrant, endorse, guarantee or assume responsibility for any Content posted on the Community or any hyperlinked website. As with any information or advice, obtained through any medium or in any environment, you should use your judgment and exercise caution where appropriate. No advice or information whether oral or in writing obtained by you from Lyft shall create any warranty on behalf of Lyft in this regard.

Lyft will make reasonable efforts to keep the Community operational. However, certain technical difficulties or maintenance may, from time to time, result in temporary interruptions. Lyft reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Community or any of its functions and features with or without notice. If Lyft modifies or discontinues the Community for any reason, Lyft shall have no liability or responsibility to you.

7. Intellectual property

Lyft respects intellectual property rights, and expects you to do the same. Please note therefore that the Community is the property of Lyft or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property rights (including but not limited to copyright) and that you do not have a right to use the Community in any manner not covered by these Community Terms. Infringing activity will not be tolerated on or through the Community.

DMCA Notification: We comply with the provisions of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”). If you have an intellectual property complaint about material posted on the Community, please follow the process outlined in Lyft’s Copyright Policy. All terms of the Lyft Copyright Policy are incorporated herein by reference.

8. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information in connection with the Lyft Platform is as provided in Lyft’s Privacy Policy located at www.lyft.com/privacy.

9. Miscellaneous

Lyft reserves the right to modify the terms and conditions of this Agreement, and such modifications shall be binding on you only upon your acceptance of the modified Agreement. Lyft reserves the right to modify any information on pages referenced in the hyperlinks from this Agreement from time to time, and such modifications shall become effective upon posting. Continued use of the Community shall constitute your consent to such changes.

Lyft may assign its rights and obligations in connection with these Community Terms without restrictions. You may not assign your rights or obligations in connection these Community or your Community Account, or any part thereof, to any third party

This Agreement shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws applicable to you pursuant to the Lyft Terms of Service.
