Being asked to not log into multiple devices

Ok so I think I know how this happened and it’s not what Lyft/bluebikes may think. I went to nyc last month to citibike for a day and so I had downloaded the citibike app and was also unlocking citibikes from the Lyft app. FYI - all three apps are linked (bluebikes, Lyft and citibike) and when I bike in nyc it shows as an active session on my Bluebike app even though Boston is not part of Lyft Pink.

I was not logging into another device but in order to download day pass I tried to log into my Lyft profile thru my safari so I guess bluebikes thinks I am sharing my riding with other members which I am not.

I want to clarify because I don’t want my account to be deactivated as I have not committed any fraud whatsoever.

I figure I would post here as maybe others have experienced biking in multiple cities where Lyft bike share is an option.

  • Hi SM970 !

Thanks so much for sharing the details! We can totally understand the confusion. It looks like the system flagged your account because of the way the Bluebikes and Lyft accounts are linked, especially with your recent trip to NYC. Since you were using CitiBike in NYC and the Bluebikes app, the system might have thought you were riding across different markets too frequently.

As long as this was just a one-time situation and not something that’s happening regularly, there’s nothing to worry about! The system tends to flag these things when users go back and forth between cities, but if it’s an exception, your account should be fine.

We really appreciate the clarification, and if you ever have more questions, feel free to reach out!

    Hope this helps!
