Bike Angels Motivation?

I just do Bike Angels to get points to pay for expensive e-bike minutes and extend membership. I dont go to much out of my way to get points. I also work so dont have much time to devote.

Seems many here might be doing this for income. Seems you need to put in the time but good workout and you are your own boss. Gig economy.

Curious, what's your motivation?

It's definitely different because I'm an employee; I get a free Lyft Pink All Access membership, so I don't need to worry about extending a membership. For me the big draw is definitely ebike credits (no free ebike minutes for us either) and I'm getting pretty close to the final physical reward (the backpack) so that definitely counts too.

I have to admit that I used to take a lot more rides back in the pandemic when we didn't go into the office; it was one of the main ways to get my body moving back then, but now commutes take up a big chunk of time that I used to spend angeling and even when I take a train I still walk so much that I feel less of an urge to go for some point earning rides than before.

(Also, it's hard to turn off my work brain while doing bike angels, so generally I'm not super efficient because I will also spent time reporting things that need to be fixed at stations, and I will wrench bikes and make sure that I get the wrench report right and help people if they have trouble docking, you know the drill).

Well at least I hope they give you discounted ebike minutes.

Last fall I spent more time doing BA, and banked like $200 worth of credit that I just finished and need to replenish. Those ebike fees add up quick.

I also do it for the same reasons. I used to be a little more enthusiastic about it until the reduced the payouts and stopped giving cash
