Lifetime rewards never received
I've hit the milestone for 4 out of the 5 lifetime rewards and filled out the forms each time, but I'm still waiting on them. It's been months now, and I'm starting to wonder if there's a glitch in the system or if I've missed something. Has anyone else experienced similar delays? Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated.62Views1like2CommentsAlgorithm
Hello, It feels like the citi bike angels algorithm typically assigns valuations based on historical performance. For example, there is typically a portion of Bed/Stuy and Bushwick that is need of bikes and has -1 and -2 point valuations (needs dropoffs). Likewise most of Williamsburg and Greenpoint is typically a range of 0 to +3 (needs pickups). Meanwhile, there are typically a few stations spruced throughout Williamsburg and Greenpoint with less than 10-20% of bikes available. These stations are rarely if ever incentivized with a +1 or +2 (needs drop offs) even though they are in desperate need of drop offs. What are the steps being taken to incentivize people to make common sense drop offs that would Redistribute bikes to less crowded stations Reward users to make common sense detours from their typical routes and lead to spread bikes more evenly Also, what steps are being taken to increase the 2x multiplier time length? What is the benefit of providing people 24 hours to take positive rides? What about Citi Bike Angels who use the program more casually a handful of times a week for example? What is the point of disincentivizing Citi Bike riders in taking positive rides by including a rapidly expiring multiplier? For me, and many of my friends the 2x multiplier amounts to a pop-up ad than a helpful piece of information that guides my behavior. The direction to not take Negative rides serves a similar purpose and is much more effective. I understand that Lyft may want to incentivize Bike Angels to participate in the program more frequently but it seems burdensome and unrealistic with the way the vast majority of people use the program. I believe the Citi Bike program would be greatly improved by adjusting the timelines. See my reccomendation below: 2x Citi Angels timing: 72 hours to take 1 positive ride to maintain the 2x bonus, to take 3 positive rides to reach 3x positive rides 3x Citi Angels timing: 1 week to take 3 positive rides Best, Pizzafan457Solved58Views0likes3CommentsCan I intentionally angel?
I'm considering intentionally making as many points as possible being an angel for a set amount of hours each day. But the language in the terms is not clear to me: You further agree that you will not take a sequence of "chained" rides (where each ride begins at the station where the previous ride ended), whether within a single account or across accounts, that increase the points earned compared to a single ride of the same net effect on the system in short, are there rules I can abide by while still making points for a few hours per day? I would like to see some "do's" and "do nots" to make the vague language above more concreteSolved79Views3likes3CommentsJust Noticed Rewards
Have been reduced significantly. If you want to redeem points for gift card, the only options are $10 for 100 points or $150 for 1000 points. They took away the $50 reward for 300 points. It’s all quite disappointing. I have to wonder what the rationale is for cutting the rewards so drastically. For my part, I am mostly riding for leisure now and not giving much thought to whether the station I take a bike from is wither pick up or drop off. If I need to get someplace, I completely disregard whether I’ll get points or whether my boost will end. This month is the first month in ages that I’ve never had enough points for a reward other than ebike minutes. I’ve seen that others have not been deterred; occasionally I will see someone who is obviously a Bike Angel racing from time station to another to pick up and drop off bikes. God bless them. I’m not working harder for fewer perks/benefits. This, of course, is all the fault of the renegade Bike Angels who made it their life’s mission to game the system. Wonder what they’re doing now that the program has been eviscerated.97Views3likes2CommentsCurrent Timing for Lifetime Rewards?
Hi - Just curious what the current timeline is for lifetime rewards? I earned Casual Cruiser and October and Steady Pedaler in November, but have yet to receive anything. I'd prefer not to call / ask Citibike customer service due to a terrible experience I just had with my account being locked and their inability to resolve the situation for 2 months, so hoping the moderators here or other active members might be able to offer some insight into current reward wait times. Thanks in advanceSolved83Views2likes4CommentsWhy do my CitiBike keys wear out?
Hi Jess, Do Citi Bike keys have an estimated lifespan? At some point years ago I received a white key as a perk, and used it for at least five or six years before it suddenly stopped working exactly a month ago. Luckily, I still had my original blue key which I then started using, and I ordered a new key as a back up. Tonight as I was out doing Bike Angle rides, my old blue key stopped working as well. Luckily the new key came in the mail a few days ago so I switched over to that, but I’m wondering how long the brand new one might last, if I should get back up for that one now. BTW, my original blue key that died tonight looks brand new, so it’s not like it’s been abused in any way. Also, why can’t I just sign into this web page with my password? Why do I need to fill out my number to have Lyft send me a text with a number, then enter that number here? What is the point of password if I can’t use it? Thanks.Solved191Views2likes5CommentsCitibike/Lyft again makes a change to the program with no notification!
So it seems like Citibike/Lyft has pulled another fast one on us–instead of Bike Angels getting the previous $200 worth of value (obviously not actually cash anymore) when we redeem 1000 points, starting this month you seem to have lowered it to us getting only $150 worth of E-gift cards. And as usual, you have not sent an email informing the Bike Angels of this change, you have posted nothing official on this blog, nor did you do anything to make us aware of it, so the only way anyone would have found out is at the end of February, after they spent the whole month accumulating points when they went to redeem them, and suddenly discovered that they were now worth 25% less in value! This is reminiscence of many of the changes Citibike/Lyft has made to the Bike Angels program, most recently when you decided to stop letting us redeem our hard earned points for ACH, changing your long-standing arrangement, with no communication to members, only some fine print if they redeemed their points that month, that many people missed. And if anyone was banking their points, thinking they could redeem them later for cash, well they were just out of luck! I just found out about this most recent change yesterday because someone shared it with me, otherwise I would’ve been in the dark until I went to redeem my points at the end of February. I really feel that Citibike/Lyft does not care about the Bike Angels, and it’s doing everything in it’s power to destroy the system and any goodwill that they had left with us. Pretty soon no one is going to want to be a Bike Angel, and Citibike/Lyft will have to spend all the money (and likely more) that they think they are saving by making these changes, and hire more employees to move all the bikes. And again, this lack of notification, of transparency, along with last year’s long delays in receiving our rewards after we redeemed our points, speaks volumes to how Citibike/Lyft really feels about their dedicated Bike Angels.487Views9likes19Comments
