1099-MISC from Lyft
Has anyone received their 1099-MISC 2023 tax from Lyft yet? Anyone from Citibike know when we can expect them in the mail? Thanks for you help.
I have not received my 1099 either. My understanding is that they were supposed to be issued by 1/31/2024. I can't speak for others, but downloading is a viable option for me. Just tell me how I can do it.
2nd UPDATE:
Angels began reporting they received their 1099s on 2/21.
UPDATE:
Thank you to all who contributed to this thread. I appreciate your time as you’ve been waiting, and I am sorry you’ve yet to receive your 1099s. After investigating further internally, I can confirm that all 1099s have been submitted to our processor and will arrive by mail to Angels that completed a W-9 form in Tremendous for 2023.
I understand Angels are waiting for these documents, and I expect you will receive them in the next week. I am unable to provide digital copies at this time and am also unable to provide Angels with an exact date to expect this mailing, as I don’t have insight into processing times for the third-party service we use to finalize these documents.

Hey there, Eric4Bklyn, thank you visiting the community and contributing to this thread. I personally connected with the team that handles tax information, and can confirm these items were sent by 1/19. I understand you've yet to receive yours.
Thank you for your report. I'm unable to provide an electronic copy of this document, but I will reach out internally and follow up here once I have an update.
Hi Jess, I also have failed to receive a 1099 from Lyft. I provided W-9 info to Lyft in mid-2023 when I passed the $600 mark in Bike Angel gift cards. Please tell Lyft to re-send the form (OR, if you find a way I can generate the 1099 on line, let me know). Thx, Mark B
Thank you for your contribution to this thread. I am connecting internally with the team that supports these documents to inform them of these reports.
Jess, do you have any further info? The missing Lyft/Citibike 1099 is causing me major problems; I do not feel confident filing my taxes until I have received the form.
Is there any more information on the status of the 1099s? There's clearly a problem on Bike Angels'/Lyft's end -- there is a consistent pattern of people reporting that they have not received their 1099. Bike Angels/Lyft was required to send the 1099s by January 31st, nearly two weeks ago. I ask that Bike Angels/Lyft redouble their effort to find out where the 1099s are and to get them to us immediately. If Bike Angels/Lyft can't work out a way for us to download the 1099s, then you should have them sent by overnight delivery.
Thank you for checkin, Jess. I also still did not receive my 1099 from Lyft ('been checking my mailbox religiously every day for the past three weeks) - is there anyone I can contact to get it resent?
Jess -
It is now March 19th and I still have not received my 1099-Misc. Please advise. This is well beyond the date required by the IRA. Please advise ASAP!
This website has developed new bugs and will not allow me to send a message directly to you. My response to your email response follows...I included this in the report message tab, since there is no longer an option to send a private email message.
There is no way to respond to this message or to send another one to Jess. Not sure what they worked on on the site this week...but this is a new problem. My response to Jess is that I did fill out the form last year but never received notification to fill out a 1099 this year. I have no idea where I was supposed to do so or how I can get the report for 2023. It is pretty ridiculous how this has been handled thus far. Also...I never cashed in the Tremendous gift cards. They sent the emails, but apparently Citibike will have to reissue them if they have expired after all of this time (or if I do not have the original emails), thus I suspect there is a way to reissue the rewards and/or convert them to the cash option. Another member indicated that he had done that in the past...I just don't know how and have not bumped into him lately to follow up. Please advise.
Also...I imagine that this is the reason why so many people never received their tax forms. I have never had to complete forms on an annual basis for any employer or business entity. There is definitely a failure on the part of either Tremendous and/or CitiBike. And the fact that Tremedous automatically continued to send Amazon gift cards for several years without offering another option, while expecting us to complete another the W-9 (which rarely changes), is truly ironic. And the fact that they did not even notify us that the form was needed, suggests that they knew they had it on file. This does not sound like a legitimate "excuse." This is certainly why everyone is being held up from completing their taxes. I thought perhaps I had not received one because I have not cashed in any gift cards that were sent to me...but I suppose that has nothing to do with it, if as you suggested, I cannot adjust them to cash rather than sitting on all these gift cards because Amazon did a bait and switch on what could be purchased with those cards.
