Cash Reward redeemed on 1/15/2025, W-9?

I just redeemed my cash reward today (1/15/2025) which puts me over the $600 threshold requiring me to complete and submit the W-9 on the Tremendous website. Does anyone know when I will be receiving this 1099 and if this will be applied to my 2024 taxes (since filing deadline is in April) or would this be applied to my 2025 taxes?

    Hey there T1m3Wizard !

    Short answer to your question is that your cash reward earned in 2025 will/should go towards your 2025 taxes, not your upcoming 2024 taxes to be filed soon.

    Hi there! If you are required to file for 2024 taxes, you will receive your 1099 by mail. While we have not been given an exact date yet, we will provide updates as soon as they become available.

      Are you saying I will be required to file for 2024 on the $600+ amount that was redeemed this year in 2025?
