I got paid? I thought tremendous was eliminated

For context I have been using Boston bluebikes for over 2 yrs and have been an angel since 2023. I was as shocked as anyone when the app changed on us last month in which even gift card options were seemingly removed. I was under the impression after this sudden change that I would not be getting paid anymore by bike angels even in terms of credits to Amazon or doordash.

I interpreted the recent changes to mean that the points were useful towards ebike and long acoustic ride credits only. Much to my surprise however I received an email today with USD I was able to redeem via DoorDash. So is this for February rewards from before the app change or was this in error like we saw in December when we got paid for November 2023 rewards instead of 2024?
Please clarify as I do not really understand the math. If there are points to be earned I thought points could be redeemed via the app in which points never expire not thru tremendous emails. Can you clarify?

  • Hey SM970!

Yup we are positive that our beloved Bike Angels in Bluebikes do get e-gift cards.

The option not showing there has been flagged to our internal teams and currently being rectified, apologies for the confusion this caused!

    Hi SM970

Currently, angels have the option to choose among e-bike credits, membership extensions, Lyft credits, and gift cards. After the updates on the reward system, angels will now have the option to claim gift cards from different retailers or donate their rewards to charity. Once a rider gathers enough points, they can view the redemption options by clicking the ‘Redeem’ button in the email from Tremendous.

This now applies for riders located in Boston as well. The Bike Angels program for Bluebikes started to transition to redeemable rewards this February. This means that apart from having the option to manually redeem points for e-bike/Lyft credits or memberships extensions, you can also redeem your points for the available retail gift cards with Tremendous.

The reward you received was for points redeemed in February. We hope this clarifies things a little more, if you have any other question or concerns please let us know so we can look into this further!

thank you Edith but are you sure about this? I think the points I earned were thru Feb 4 when the app changed and I no longer earned points via tremendous. See my app now. It doesn’t have e-gift card as an option  in terms of options to shop for rewards

I hope you are right but I feel like I’m getting mixed messages
