A community for all Bike Angels
In 2021, we launched this community with less than 100 Bike Angels from NYC who ride with Citi Bike to understand how Angels would interact here and what we can learn from the community. Today, the community has grown to more than 1900 members, and we have Angels from outside NYC represented in the community. We’re pumped to share that we’re expanding the community to create a space where Bike Angels from cities across the U.S. can connect and find answers. Did you know there are about 50,000 Angels in NYC, but that's only 71% of all Angels? What’s changing? We’re inviting about 14,000 new Bike Angels to join in the conversation here. One thing to note: Angels from different cities have different experiences with their bikeshare system and the Bike Angels program. For instance, Bike Angels in Chicago can earn points for moving scooters, too! And, rewards offered differ by city—check out the links at the bottom of our homepage. When chatting, keep in mind that you may be replying to someone with a slightly different experience with their bikeshare system or the game. How can I help build the community? As founding members of the Bike Angels Community, you all have set the pace for how we’ll communicate here. New members may need some help along the way, and of course, we’ll make them feel welcome. If you spot duplicate threads or irrelevant replies, kindly steer members in the right direction to help keep the community productive and organized.71Views2likes0CommentsIs it worth returning an ebike/scooter to a dock?
This might be news to our NYC friends, but in Chicago you can leave an ebike/scooter just about anywhere. Knowing whether returning an undocked ebike/scooter to a station is a net reward or not depends on how far away the dock is (X-axis, in minutes) and the points offered (Y-axis). I thought it would be interesting to make a chart for that: Bike Angels points valued at $0.20/point (based on 150 pts reward $30 Lyft credit) Red is bad (the ride fee is more than the reward), green is good, and yellow's kind of a wash. For ebikes it's easy to guess because reward is $0.20/pts and cost is approx $0.20/min. Scooters are more expensive so it's a bit tricky to calculate in your head, but aiming for 2x sounds good (e.g. if your trip is 2 minutes you should be looking for 4 pts).167Views2likes9CommentsLyft Pink All Access
Thank you. Can someone please explain how Free Guest passes and Unlock Fees work? I'm hoping to use them in NYC and Chicago after upgrading to Lyft Pink AllAccess Currently with my Divvy membership, we get 5 free guest unlocks. If I get Lift Pink All Access, you get 3 guest passes, is that in addition to the 5 free guests unlocks, so 8 total? What's the difference between unlocks and guests passes and how do they work exactly? Appreciate the help. Thank you.32Views0likes0CommentsHow many "Power Angels" are there in each city?
I'm interested to know the breakdown of number of Power Angels (5000+ pts) per city Chicago (divvy) NYC (citibike) Boston (bluebikes) San Francisco (bay wheels) Washington DC (capital bikeshare) Portland (biketown pdx) Montreal (amis bixi)128Views3likes7CommentsAbrupt Cancellation of Lyft Pink All Access Membership (linked to Chase Sapphire Reserve)
I originally received my 2-year Lyft Pink All Access membership through my Chase Sapphire Reserve card, which also got me into the Bike Angels program. Using Bike Angels points, I extended my membership to at least July 2025. However, after canceling my Chase Reserve card yesterday, my Lyft Pink membership was abruptly canceled too! I still have 380 points in my points bank. Reached out to Lyft support, and they said a specialized team would get in touch, but I haven’t heard back from anyone yet.404Views1like9CommentsLyft at X (Twitter) is Ignoring Me :(
Lyft at X (Twitter) is Ignoring Me A few times a week the Divvy app fails to credit my earned points Usually/always, submitting a screen shot and photo to X has quickly resulted in the missing points being credited. This last weekend Lyft X denied crediting 12pts, and are refusing to respond to my absolute proof they are earned, and will not give me a reason why? It's simple. I moved eBikes from the deserted "underground" to what is one of the busiest docks in the whole city. (pic) All the bikes were moved within the 15 minute, 12 points time frame from the exact same place to the dock. One ride was missing the 12pts credit. More sad than the amount of time spent on this project, fighting for a earned 12 points, is the fact that Lyft X is ghosting me. 18 24-18.16, shows a glitch in the app. A two minute ride that has no movement Photos attached Please, can someone help? Thank you.Solved133Views1like13CommentsPedal assist preference on ebike
In citibike help pages I see this info https://help.citibikenyc.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039406631-Riding-with-an-ebike In instances where there are no classic bikes at a station, memberscan now rent one of our new, next-gen silver ebikes in “classic mode.” This means that you can rent this ebike for no extra charge, but there will be little to no e-assist for the ride. To make this choice, you’ll see a screen after scanning the QR code that allows you to choose between riding with full assist or riding with low assist. But in divvy (chicago) help pages, which otherwise looks pretty similar, it doesn't have that section https://help.divvybikes.com/hc/en-us/articles/360046649911-Riding-with-an-ebike We have those same bikes as NYC, except they have a cable lock fitted for docking out of station. Is the low-cost ebike ride also possible in Chicago, riding with low assist? If so, how to select it? If not, why not?73Views1like3CommentsWill Lyft Pink Access All Market?
Hello Thank you Found some answers :) If we join Lyft Pink All Access in Chicago, can we us our Points Bank to pay for extending Lyft Pink All Access membership? Answer: No If we join Lyft Pink All Access in Chicago, will that gives us access to Lyft's bike sharing (the bike Angels program) in all of their other bike sharing markets?. Answer: Yes If we sign up for Lyft Pink All Access in Chicago, will that give us the same Lyft's car sharing access in all their cities? Answer: Yes So... instead of getting a separate Divvy or Citbike membership, we can just get Lyft Pink which will allow us access and membership in all of Lyft's bike sharing markets as well as access to their car sharing? Answer: Yes Then why pay Citbike's annual fee of $220 when Pink All Access is only $199? Answer: Because the Points Bank can not be used to extend Pink All Access membership. You'll have to pay the $199 out of pocket Except ... in NYC, you can do Points for Cash and cover the cost that way Thank you158Views1like12CommentsBig Change to the app?
There has been a big change to the Divvy app A great way to protect against losing your boost if a docking station status changed moments before grabbing a bike, was after selecting the exact docking station, scan the bike from within that open window What used to happen, if you were in danger of losing your boost, a warning would tell you. After losing my boost when I was sure about the docks status, and using the above technique, we tested, and that feature is gone. We switched from using the fob exactly for that protection, as more than a few times a "quick switch" caused us to loose boost. Does anyone remember that feature and is it in fact, gone? Thanks147Views1like7CommentsIs This Fair?
Is this FAIR!!! The app tells us there are 150 bikes available at a Valet tended docking station, and 3pts for pickup (pic) And when we get there the dock has nothing?!!? Empty Please, some compensation for Lyft's grave error in 90 degree heat, or please get the algorithm fixed Okay we're asking too much. Not for the compensation. But to expect Lyft will ever fix the system. Sure, we don't want the Angel thing to end, but why can't the big brains fix these inconsistencies Thank you.Solved104Views0likes6Comments
