In-App Map not Refreshing
Hi there Bike Angels! Just wanted to give a quick update to you active riders in the Citibike area that the Citibike app map is not properly refreshing point values on 15 minute intervals! This was brought to our attention by conrad in his post here (give him some kudos/likes gang!) Our team is working on resolving this issue and monitoring for reports from our other bikeshare markets. As we are attempting to fix this issue the following workarounds will forcefully update your map: Exiting the app and entering it again Toggle the P (parking) button (thanks again conrad!) Thanks for being patient with us as our teams fix this and ensure a better app experience!17Views0likes0CommentsIntro to the Bike Angels Profile

Question How do I check how many points I earned for a specific ride? Answer When a ride earns points, you will see this reflected in the notification at the end of your ride, as well as in the app before you rate your ride. To check how many points you received for a previous ride, check the Ride History tab of your app. The Ride History pages will also indicate when you unlocked a reward from a trip. Or, if you earned 0 points, these pages will explain why.234Views0likes3CommentsPoints not awarded as shown on citibike map
I noticed recently that I’m not awarded points as they are shown on Citibike map but instead just 1 point for picking up bike and one for docking - today I picked bike up at the station that showed 3 points and docked at station that showed 3 points. I was awarded 6 points but I had also unlocked 3x multiplayer and the ride history showed that I earned 1 points with 3xboost. Anyone knows what’s the problem here?Solved56Views1like2CommentsGuide to streaks
What is a streak? A streak is a perk activated when a Bike Angel takes three consecutive point-earning rides in a 24-hour period. Once a streak is active, points on the map are multiplied for a given amount of time or until the streak is broken. How do streaks work? Take 1 ride to unlock a 2x multiplier for 24 hours Take 3 more rides while you have a streak to unlock a 3x for 24 hours Take 4 more rides while you have a streak to restart the 24-hour clock and extend your streak How do I keep my streak? Don’t take any ‘negative’ rides. A negative ride is a ride that brings bikes to a station that doesn’t need bikes or takes away a bike from a station in need of bikes. * A Neutral ride will not break an active streak.262Views3likes0CommentsAlgo limitations downtown
I'm new to point farming but enjoy the gamified aspect. I've noticed that the algo does well in Midtown and UES at showing opportunities for local rebalancing, presumably because local supply/demand varies. Bike Angels on streaks can help here. But downtown, the supply/demand imbalance often seems regional, with literally ALL docks showing the same imbalance. (For example, early mornings) When this happens, Bike Angels have no incentive to work, and bikes will only be repositioned by long-haul riders, who almost by definition are not point farmers. Does Citibike understand why this regional asymmetry exist? Can it be solved, perhaps by off-hour en masse moves to create local imbalances?80Views1like1CommentIs There a Bike Angels Reward for Returning Abandoned Citibike?
Is there a reward through the Bike Angels program for returning abandoned Citibikes that are left outside of stations? If so, what is the process for doing this? I often see bikes left around, but given my tight schedule, it doesn’t seem worth the effort without a clear incentive. A way to scan them to know that they are truly abandoned and receive substantial points for returning them would be ideal.201Views3likes3Comments
