New Points system

Maybe someone in the community can explain better than Citibike reps. How does the new Points system work? There is no more automatic rewards after reaching a certain number of points? And I do not u...

    Hey there, equinox001 & robertripps, thanks for posting your questions in the community. If you’re seeing the points bank in your Bike Angels profile, your rewards won’t redeem automatically moving forward; instead, your points will accrue in your points bank. This won’t affect any rewards you redeemed before your most recent update after 5/3/23. Any points earned in April that hadn’t earned a reward were rolled into your points bank. 

     

    With the points bank, your point total won’t reset each month. Points earned are stored in your points bank and can be redeemed for digital and cash rewards. Angels that reach Lifetime Achievements, like Hustlin’ Hero, will earn physical rewards.  To redeem your points, click ‘View your rewards’ in your Bike Angels profile.

How does this affect the membership extension rewards that were given at 20-point increments?

Are those incremental monthly rewards still available?

and why are the number of points "in bank" not the same as what i've accumulated for the month?

Hey there, Ronda, thanks for following up with clarifying questions! Welcome to the community. 🎊 

 

The rewards formally offered each month are still available, but instead of automatically getting predetermined rewards, Angels can choose which rewards they want and when. You'll earn points. They'll bank in your points bank, and you'll 'shop' for the rewards you prefer in your app. 

 

Regarding how your points appear in your app just after the change, Angels that earned points and auto-redeemed rewards in May before this change won't see their monthly total points in their points bank, since some of the monthly points were used when rewards were autoredeemed. 

 

For example, if a rider earned 93 points before their app changed, their monthly points total would have shown 93 points, and they would have already automatically received the Bronze, Silver, and some Gold monthly rewards. Their points bank would show the 3 points that hadn't been redeemed automatically for the rewards mentioned. 

 

With the new structure, your monthly points total won't dictate your rewards, and you'll still be able to extend your membership up to four weeks or one full month each month. '

    ok Jess thanks its becoming a bit clearer... but i don't see any rewards to "shop" for. The app currently shows 21 points in my bank so i should be able to redeem the Silver Spoke reward (of a one-week-membership extension)? -- yet the "rewards" tab says "looks like you don't have any rewards, check back later"

      Happy to help, Ronda. To 'shop' for rewards with your points, you'll tap on the rewards in your BA profile. You'll see a panel to review your selection appear. Please let me know if this isn't what you're seeing! 😊
